The K-Pipe is made with a proprietary blend of polyethylene resins that make it flexible enough to be dragged back and forth into different positions, yet tough enough to withstand the abuse it experiences in doing that. It has a high burst strength, as well as a high tensile strength. K-Pipe is so unique that it has been assigned its own ASTM number, an internationally recognized engineering standard for producing a OVERVIEW K-Line is a moveable irrigation system that is set in one position for 12 or 24 hours. K-Line systems are effortlessly relocated from one position to another, typically with an ATV or even a lawnmower. The foundational components of a K-Line system are the K-Pipe (polyethylene tubing) and pods (plastic shells) that surround and protect each sprinkler unit. K-Pipe is designed to take the pull and stress of moving the system yet is flexible enough to make the necessary turns it takes when being relocated. Pods are placed on the polyethylene tubing typically at intervals of 40 to 50 feet. The pod encompasses the sprinkler, and the other valuable internal connections, protecting them from damage. Pods also act as a skid or “sled” to keep the sprinklers upright and to assist in sliding along the ground when being moved from one position to the next. Because the lines are placed in one position for 12 or 24 hours, K-Line allows for a slow, consistent application of water into the soil.6 product to a precise specification, ensuring the preservation of the quality and integrity of the product.
